Thank you ButtonsN’Bows Haberdashery!

We want to say a  HUGE thank you to Sam Harvey and the team at Buttons ‘N Bows Haberdashery!

We’re feeling incredibly grateful after receiving an amazing donation of 15,000 yards of colourful ribbon and 175 metres of fabric from Buttons N Bows Haberdashery in Victoria, BC!

This generous gift will be be divided among our Sewcase partner schools and shipped to communities across Canada for the 2026–27 school year. These beautiful materials will become ribbon skirts, shirts, regalia, tote bags, quilts and so much more as Indigenous youth build sewing skills, confidence, and cultural connections.
As an Indigenous business owner, Sam Harvey knows the importance of investing in the next generation. With roots in the Stó:lō First Nation and connections to Scia’new Nation (Beecher Bay), Sam has dedicated her life to learning and sharing traditional skills, from cedar weaving and basket making to beading, traditional spinning and weaving, and natural plant and lichen dyes. Her passion for creativity and teaching continues to inspire everyone she meets.

Sam, thank you for believing in Indigenous youth and for helping fill our classrooms with colour, creativity, and possibility. Your generosity will have a lasting impact in communities across the country. We can’t wait to see all the beautiful creations your donation will help bring to life.
And congratulations on three wonderful years since taking the reins at Buttons & Bows Haberdashery!

Thank you for being part of the Sewcase journey..
