Sewcase Teachers End of Year Actions

It’s that time of year again when we need your feedback to continue improving our sewing program! We sent an email to all teachers on April 17th, and this is a follow-up to share some additional information. It’s essential that we receive your responses to ensure we can effectively raise support and fulfill your supply requests.

We will soon open applications for Saskatchewan Fashion Week 2025! The show is moving to a new venue at the Remai Modern Art Gallery in Saskatoon, and we are very excited about it! We are finalizing details regarding our youth showcase and will send out more information soon. You can watch last year’s video here!

CONGRATULATIONS TO PRAIRIE FROM STURGEON LAKE FIRST NATION!

Prairie recently won the 2025 WOVEN blanket design contest! WOVEN, a limited-edition brand created in collaboration with Soaring Circle in 2023, aims to inspire Indigenous youth across Canada through design and entrepreneurship. Thank you to Prairiee’s teacher Candace Longjohn-Constant from St. Mary’s High School for encouraging her students to participate in WOVEN!

This unique contest encouraged young people to submit drawings for a chance to have their work woven into a blanket. Stay tuned to see Prairie bring her idea to life with the MINI TIPI team! We can’t wait to share her design and story!

TURN YOUR STUDENTS' ART INTO A MARKETABLE FUNDRAISING ITEM FOR YOUR SCHOOL

Soaring Circle’s Art for Aid program is able to turn student art into a wonderful and useful fundraising tool:

“Wash your hands” posters – we can use your student’s artwork to create these posters for your school in your language.
Note cards and bookmarks that can be sold to raise funds with your school logo on the back.
Bookmarks using your students’ artwork and whatever message you like on the back.

Soaring Circle is a proud partner of the 2025 Skills Canada National Competition in Regina! We have a booth at the event on May 29 + 30th with guest artist Melanie Monique Rose demonstrating art of needle felting at our booth.
