Skills Canada Nationals 2025

We are thrilled to announce our partnership with the Skills Canada / Compétences Canada National event, taking place in Regina on May 29 and 30th! We encourage all teachers and students who are able to attend and there is an option to sign up your school to attend virtually!

At our booth, we will be featuring Métis/Ukrainian artist Melanie Monique Rose, who will showcase her unique style of needle felting. We invite you to stop by and even try your hand at this art form while saying hello!

Melanie Monique Rose is a visual artist from Regina, Saskatchewan, on Treaty 4 Territory, and a member of the Sâkêwêwak Artists’ Collective Inc. She studied Fibre Arts at the Kootenay School of the Arts in Nelson, B.C., and has exhibited her work in group and solo shows. In 2013, she received the Excellence in Textiles award at Dimension’s touring show. In 2020, CBC recognized her as one of their Future 40 for contributions to arts and culture. More recently, she was awarded the Saskatchewan Foundation of the Arts Endowment Award. Melanie also works as a gallery facilitator, story-keeper, and art instructor, teaching workshops in various settings.
